Block-to-block: Everyone’s going gaga over the RTS Network

The latest Blocksocial event at Singapore has got everyone talking about Blockchain, and the RTS Network, all over again. Yes, even the blocks.

Block A: Stop that, you’re messing up the hash. What’s all the fuss about?
Block B: I heard of something really grand! Those Blocksocial guys organized another meetup on May 18th, and this time, at Singapore.
Block A: Looks like those humans are serious about us after all. Go on, I need data. Copious data.
Block B: Well, they organize these from time to time. They invite the top guns who know their bitcoins and sort of just… bring everybody together and talk about changing the society. Using us!
Block A: I had no idea we were that interesting.
Block B: What’s the bug with you? We’re phenomenal. And in any case, you have to give it to those guys — they know how to put things to good use.
Block A: Well, what’s with these top guns? Who were they, what do they do?
Block B: It was really info-packed. They were talking about all the ways we can make ourselves useful. Sankalp started it off with financial inclusion, and then Nicholas on token security…

Block A: Now that you mention finances, what about the ICO
Block B: Yeah, Amarpreet and Rune were giving intense ICO insights. From Roots, there was Bhuwan
Block A: Roots? Remind me what all this has to do with plants?
Block B: You need serious updating, my friend. The RTS Network. They have been on the go for some time now, and they’re going to change the economy by making tourism a lot easier for people.
Block A: Interesting. You’ve really got me hooked.
Block B: In case you didn’t notice, we already are hooked to each other. Anyway, the RTS network simplifies travel for travelers and businesses both. They issue these RTS tokens that can help with this.
Block A: Really? How?
Block B: Well, the token can be used as reward when there is sharing of user data. And it makes it really easy to make payments, so that’s just cheaper and better for the travelers. It can also be used as a sort of key — to all your features, discounts and assets — all in one place. Cool, right?
Block A: For once, I agree with you. Back to the Blocksocial. They have even more coming up, don’t they? That’s a proper community — always updated.
Block B: Talking of communities, the RTS is collaborating with IITD EDC as well. They’re super serious about helping entrepreneurs get to know us better.
Block A: That’s a great start. And look at their website here: I like what I’m seeing. The future looks quite promising indeed for us blocks.
Block B: The future IS us. You see why I’m hyped about this now?
Block A: We Genesis blocks do NOT behave like fools. We scan our hashes and keep steady and let the humans do the rest. So that’s enough for today.
Or so says the block, but we all know we haven’t had enough. Stay tuned with us to know more about all that’s blockchain.

  • Hash: A function that converts an input of letters and numbers into an encrypted output of a fixed length. Every successive block will contain the previous block’s hash. If someone tampers the first block, the mismatch will break the chain. So the purpose of hash is to make sure no one tampers it.
  • Bitcoin: A digital and global money system currency. It allows people to send or receive money across the internet, even to someone they don’t know or don’t trust. Money can be exchanged without being linked to a real identity.
  • ICO: When a cryptocurrency startup firm wants to raise money through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), it usually creates a plan with specifics of the project. During the ICO campaign, enthusiasts and supporters of the firm’s initiative buy some of the distributed cryptocoins with virtual currency. If the money raised does not meet the minimum funds required by the firm, the money is returned to the backers and the ICO is unsuccessful. If the funds requirements are met within the specified timeframe, the money raised is used to either initiate the new scheme or to complete it.
  • Token: a particular fungible (means replaceable by another identical item) and tradable asset or a utility that is often found on a blockchain.
  • Genesis blocks: The first or first few blocks of a blockchain.
